The Ball Boy's Goal
Ball boy's goal is allowed by ref
This is a super interesting article I found on CBBC. It is about a goal in an official match between to Brazilian teams that a ball boy made. Usually, ball boys just hand the soccer balls to the refs when a player shoots it out of the court. They also clean the balls by making sure they are not dirty, or sweaty, and he makes sure balls have the right amout of air inside, and stuff like that. In regular soccer rules, that wouldn't be allowed.
One of the team's players had just missed a shot and instead of handing the ball
back to the goalie, the ball boy cheekily tapped it into the net.
The 89th-minute goal sealed a 1-1 draw between Santacruzense and Sorocaba.
I think the ref did a very unfair thing. The only people who should be allowed to score are the players on the court, not the ball boys, refs, etc, just the players. Luckily, it wasn't such an important match. It wasn't a World Cup or anything, but still, it was an important and official match. The ref can be banned and punished. She said she accepted the goal after what the linesman said. I think she should have trusted her own eyes because she is the maximum authority in the game rules in that match and any decision she takes would be important to both teams.
